As part of the our commitment to supporting and promoting jazz in schools, we are excited that immediately before Dennis Rollins’ gig with CUJO, two of our local schools’ jazz orchestras will be taking the stage to showcase their talents at the Cambridge Jazz Festival.  

 

A chance for young musicians to kick the early evening off with arrangements of everything from standards to funk, and make their mark on a weekend dedicated to the big band sound.

 

Bottisham Village College Jazz Band

 

The BVC Jazz Band is a big band comprising the best musicians in the school, from age 11-16. Playing classic standards from Take the A Train to Tequila, as well as branching into Blues Brothers and funk, the band has been featured in performances at West Road as well as regular performances in school.

 

Tickets £5 (free for kids), all money raised goes towards sponsoring CJF jazz workshops for young musicians.
