In association with CAM Music Trust, Come and support and celebrate big band music and party like it's 1939!

As part of the festival's Big Band Bonanza afternoon for all the family and ages, Harmony in Harlem will provide an exhilarating set of of jazz and swing and there will be plenty of space for dancing!

With a unique repertoire from the greatest jazz composer/bandleader in history, Duke Ellington, Harmony In Harlem has an inspiring selection of music ranging from the raw sounds of the jungle to vibrant foot-tapping swing, from the darkest lament to the lavishly romantic.

At the start of the event there will be a talk given by Prof. Cath Tackley on Early Jazz at the church cafe, and some music from community band, Malcolm's Big Brass Band in St Andrew's Street church before the main performance form Harmony in Harlem.

Seating will be provided with an area for dancing, and tea, coffee and cake will be available to purchase throughout the event.

There will be a big band workshop with Josh Kemp and a beginner's Lindy Hop dance lessons provided earlier in the day with tickets available to purchase in advance. Ticket holders for the Harmony in Harlem event are welcome to also attend the dance lesson earlier in the day FREE of charge.
