Led by local percussionist, educator and founder of local jazz & world music band, Iroko, Jane Hollingworth, come along and discover percussion  by helping to recreate a Cuban Carnival as you work on 2-3 pieces.

In the streets of Santiago de Cuba at carival time, groups of drummers parade up and down steep hills playing intricate rhythms. The drum grooves are of African origin, but in Santiago, there is also French influence from Haiti and this can be heard in one of the pieces. 

​

Come and play a conga, a cow bell, a bass drum or a clave, whichever you prefer! No experience needed and all instruments provided.
