The ticket price includes a three-course meal created by the Gonville Hotel served prior to the performance.

‘Re-Versed’ is the latest album by UK jazz singer / pianist Robin Phillips and delves into the world of the lost verses of classic jazz standards, ‘re-versing’ them in a series of new arrangements. The ‘sectional verses’ of jazz standards are introductions before the more commonly-known refrain starts.

Originally used as a link between the spoken and sung parts of a scene in musical theatre, these verses often explain and set up the story which is to unfold in the main part of the tune. Many of the verses have been lost over time and are no longer performed as part of the song.

Robin Phillips - keys and vocals
Jihad Darwish - upright bass
Alex Best - drums
Special guests:
Sam Miles - sax
Neil Cowlan - guitar

** Special overnight offer: The Gonville is offering an overnight stay for two people B&B at just £99 when attending the jazz concert on Thursday 3rd December **

The concert will also be streamed live to the Cambridge Jazz Festival Mixcloud channel.
