Rob Luft Quintet
with Amica String Quartet
"Guitar virtuoso makes enticingly vivacious debut” The Guardian

“So young and so talented!” Jamie Cullum, BBC Radio 2

"...a singular talent, a fluent improviser and a composer of catchy, earthy, infectiously upbeat tunes. There are echoes of west African high-life, English folk, indie rock and various strands of contemporary jazz, but Luft’s sound is joyously original, robust and in-your-face...” The Irish Times

The Rob Luft Quintet plays Luft’s original compositions from Rob’s first two albums on Edition Records, “Riser” & “Life is the Dancer”. The project brings together English, Scottish & Welsh musicians each drawing upon their own influences, which adds many colours to the project: Celtic folk, West African high-life, indie rock & various strands of contemporary jazz.
Line-Up:
Rob Luft - Guitar
Joe Wright - Tenor Saxophone
Joe Webb - Piano/Keyboard
Tom McCredie - Bass Guitar
Corrie Dick - Drums/Percussion
