On a mission to keep the musical legacy of New York-style salsa dura alive, this 12 piece band of percussionists, instrumentalists and vocalists comes at you full on with the authentic sounds and irresistible rhythms of merengue, salsa, and cha-cha-cha.

Formed last year in Cambridge, Viva La Tradición are passionate about Latin music in general, recreating tunes by Poncho Sanchez, Oscar Hernández, Celia Cruz and Ray Barretto amongst others, as well as performing original arrangements from members of the band. Come and hear the authentic music of the barrio, reconnect with your Latino soul, and get on the dance floor!
