Carl Størmer has done what most people dream of – combined two of his greatest passions, jazz and business, to create a successful, highly sought after business.

In his talk, Carl, a founding prinicipal of Jazzcode, will bring in musicians to illustrate how jazz musicians collaborate in real-time and then draws the parallels for professional teams. Carl will be joined by Will Barry (keys) and New York’s Ben Tiberio (bass).

 

Jazzcode AS, a consulting and entertainment firm, est. in 2005, specializes in improvisational collaboration and structured communication, offers training for high-performance teams in both private- and public sector companies who works with communication, innovation, and creativity.

Carl has spent the last 15 years as a professional speaker, musician and coach. He was the chief marketing officer at Norwegian Air Shuttle, one of Europe's largest airlines. Before Norwegian he spent four years as a founder of StudentUniverse, a leading student online travelsite, later aquired by Travel Centre. He worked for IBM with digital distribution and spent five years designing databases for US lawfirms. He has also played professionally for close to ten years, having worked with Bendik Hofseth, Øystein Sevaag, Rob Scheps, Georg Wadenius, Cameron Brown and Lars Jansson. He has recorded six CD's with his own bands, available at Spotify (search for Jazzcode).

 

Carl is a graduate of New England Conservatory, Manhattan School of Music and Columbia University.
