CONCERT

Saxophonist Rob Cope is a performer and teacher. He studied at Chetham’s School of Music and at Royal Northern College of Music, and earned a Masters in Music Performance and Royal Academy of Music. performs in Matt Robert’s Bigish Band, Andy Scott’s Group S and SoundSPARK. He has appeared with the Halle and the English Symphony Orchestras as well as with the Matthew Herbert Big Band.
Gods of Apollo is Rob Cope’s debut album, released in July 2019 on Ubuntu Music, and features Cope (saxes), Rob Luft (guitar), Elliot Galvin (keyboards) and Jon Ormston (drums).

The performance will feature archival NASA audio and travels from the first man made satellites in 1957 through to the final moon landing in 1972.
​
This is a special adventure which is not to be missed!

WORKSHOP
​
Prior to the concert there is also an 'Gods of Apollo' Improvisation WORKSHOP led by Rob Cope and FREE to attend although advanced booking is advisable as places are limited. The workshop will focus on creating music from feelings and emotions. We will examine how, through improvising freely in response to the astronauts journey, we can create musical journeys of our own. All you need to attend this workshop is to have taken grade 1 on your instrument - open to all ages and abilities - advanced booking advisable!
