Award winning Jazz composer, saxophonist, record producer and educator  Issie Barratt celebrates women in jazz and 30 years in the industry by discussing her life in the creative arts and highlighting ways in which we can help redress the gender imbalance in jazz (from performers to repertoire to audiences) for future generations.

 

Issie’s groundbreaking Interchange Dectet - award winning trumpet player and composer Laura Jurd and and new compositions by female jazz musicians - will be playing at the festival on Tue Nov 20.

 

Issie will also be giving a Workshop: Music By Women with Laura Jurd (Dinosaur).
