Jas Kayser is 26-year-old drummer, pianist, composer, band leader and Paiste Cymbals artist from the UK, previously based in Boston and New York, and currently based between London and Panama City.
Jas completed her undergraduate and masters degrees at Berklee College of Music whilst studying and playing alongside mentors such as ‪‪Terri Lyne Carrington, Danilo Perez, Ralph Peterson and Neal Smith. During this time Jas began to explore the common grounds between Jazz and Afro-beat which led to her creating her original sound and compositions.
Jas was featured in Lenny Kravitz’ Official music video single ‘Low’. She has also represented Alesis Drums, M Audio Keyboards. Additionally, she has played with various bands and artists like Jacques Schwartz-Bart, Donald Harrison in the Ralph Peterson Big Band and Luciana Souza at venues around the US such as Scullers Jazz Club, Ryle’s Jazz Club, Wally’s Jazz Café and Rockwood Music Hall, among others.
Jas has presented her original project at the Panama Jazz Festival 2020, the Next Gen Monterey Jazz Festival 2018 with Ethan Santos Quintet, Berklee Global Jazz Institute at Newport Jazz Festival 2018.
