Formed and fronted by Cambridge based vocalist Ollie Lepage-Dean, Mode9 features some of the regions most talented young jazz musicians, playing music with a refreshing fusion of neo-soul and jazz with a hint of funk. Playing almost exclusively original compositions and arrangements written by Ollie and James Brady, Mode9 mixes smooth melodies and unique harmonies.

Influences include Erykah Badu, Steely Dan and Jamie Cullum, and as well as hearing some of the best original writing around, audiences can also be treated to some popular favorites heard in astonishingly fresh and exciting arrangements including the musical number Raindrop’s Keep Falling on my Head and Stevie Wonder’s Superstition.

They recently performed at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival 2017 and released their EP ‘On Standby’ in October 2016.

With special thanks to Cambridge Drum CompanyMillers Music and  Scudamore's for their support.
