'Cambridge’s finest a cappella'  The Telegraph

Cadenza is the University of Cambridge's premier mixed a cappella group.

Founded in 1997 as a thirty-strong conducted Jazz ensemble, Cadenza became a smaller, close-harmony a cappella group in 2002. Since then, the group has had a number of critically acclaimed successes, winning the Voice Festival UK University Championships in 2011, and coming first in the Cambridge A Cappella Competition 2015.

Made up of students studying in Cambridge, Cadenza has become famed for their bombastic, beautiful arrangements and striking choreography, as well as a unique sense of humour and jaw-dropping mashups. Performing genre-spanning arrangements of their favourite tunes, they perform both in Cambridge and beyond throughout the year culminating in the best entertainment May Week has to offer.

Cadenza were Voice Festival UK Finalists in 2016, coming away with an award for Outstanding Musicality in the semi-finals, as well as the award for Outstanding Arrangement for their chilling version of Hide and Seek in the final. In the past year, the group released their debut single and music video, Thrill of the Uptown Freak, and reached the UK Semi-Finals of the prestigious ICCAs, placing them amongst the best a cappella groups the UK has to offer.

Cadenza gigs are never ones to be missed, with classics from every era, current chart hits, and ridiculous choreography; so come along!
