Young rising star saxophonist Emma Rawicz has recently turned her formidable talents to the world of big band and for this special show joins forces with the renowned Cambridge University Jazz Orchestra. Composition has always been a core part of Emma’s identity, and she now showcases her distinctive writing within the big band setting.
Expect to hear captivating, electrifying arrangements of Emma’s music, ranging from edgy, up tempo originals through joyful Afro-Cuban inspired grooves to moving ballads, as well as the premier of a new composition commissioned by Cambridge Jazz Festival. Emma will not be putting the sax down for this gig though, and will feature as a soloist as well as directing the band.
